The Truth About That Oprah’s Cover Look

wpid-O-The-Oprah-Magazine-September-Issue

I have spent a few hours hovering over Oprah‘s cover. Wig , Weave or Photoshop? Kim Kimble has spilled the beans! Kimble was approached by Andre- Lady O’s hair stylist.  She confides in Chicago Sun Times:

“That thing was an Afro wig weighing 3.5 pounds. The custom made wig was bubble wrapped and delivered in a bright travel box. It contains seven(7) bags of hair”

Oprah does look fabulous in it. Is  it any wonder she caused a Twitter meltdown when that cover was released. Kudos to Kimble whose clients include Beyonce, Shakira, Brandy, Mary J Blige and Miss Piggy.

In the true spirit of Sisterhood; let’s rock our wigs cos we are so worth it. Who is with me?

Ciao Bellas xoxo

Kimble told Chicago Sun Times how it all happened:

“I saw Andre, Oprah’s hair stylist, on the set of ‘The Voice,’ when I was working with Shakira. He said, ‘I need a really big Afro wig.’ I said, ‘I have just the thing for you.’”

That thing was an Afro wig, weighing 3.5 pounds. The custom made wig was bubble wrapped and delivered in a bright pink travel box. Kimble said the wig contains seven bags of hair and that, naturally, Oprah looks fabulous in it…because she’s Oprah.

The reception to the cover was immediate and further thrust the already well established Kimble into the spotlight:

“When Oprah revealed the cover, I woke up with Twitter blowing up.”

Oprah opens up about her own hair struggles in the issue which hit stands yesterday:

“It doesn’t matter who you are, where you come from, how long, how short, how much, or how little hair you have — women, we have issues with our hair.”
