Image  “I am not perfect. I am no saint. I am not Maya Angelou. Nor am I Einstein. I am just a working wife and mom stumbling along, trying to make my way to heaven. I must see God. I just must. These are my blogs, my very random musings. For three years I blogged as the Desperate Naija Woman…”- B. Essien Nelson

Great news folks! It’s Book Reading time again and PATABAH BOOKS is hosting Bola “Salt” Essien-Nelson as she reads from her ever popular book- ‘The Diary of a Desperate Naija Woman’.

The delectable Bola started her career as a Confidential Secretary in the then Commercial Bank (Credit Lyonnais Nigeria) Limited in 1991. In 1998 she moved on to work as the Personal Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer of the then Investment Banking & Trust Company Limited (IBTC). Both experiences provided the perfect foundation for the roles she would later take up in the Human Resource organization of one of the world’s major oil corporations where she currently works as Regional Remuneration Adviser.

Bola’s source of inspiration is definitely her family. Her husband and her children are her four reasons for “be-ing”, but the pursuit of Christ-likeness? That is her main calling. For three years, she wrote as the ‘Desperate Naija Woman’ but in January 2012, God gave her a new name. He called her ‘Salt’, sending her out to ‘season’ lives with his godly flavour. So by His grace, via her blogs, her books, her talks and her life, that is what Bola is set to do.

She will be reading on Saturday, June 29,by 3 p.m. at Patabah Books Ltd, Shop B18, Adeniran Ogunsanya Shopping Mall, Surulere, Lagos
